Even if you are not a whiz in the kitchen everyone at some stage has eaten, if not made Krispie mallow bars. And if you have not….. where have you been?

Gracing every school cake bake sale, in some for or another you will find these little bitesize, teeth sticking delights. A delightfully satisfying crunch which will stave your sugar craving but not ruin your lunch.

These are simply the easiest to make, and can be knocked and cooled down ready to eat within the space of 25 minutes. They can be jazzed up with glitter and sweets, coated in chocolate or simply left au naturale. So what are you waiting for…..Ready… Steady…. Bake

Ingredients

  1. 45g butter

  2. 300g of marshmallows (pink and white marshmallows create a pink bar, white create regular crispie colour)

  3. 180g rice crispies

  4. Edible glitter/ sprinkles or other sweets such as smarties (optional)

What you will need:

  1. Saucepan

  2. Wooden spoon

  3. greaseproof paper

  4. Baking tray

  5. Spatula

Method

  1. Line your baking tray with greaseproof paper.

  2. In the saucepan heat the butter and marshmallows

  3. Keep stirring the marshmallows until the marshmallows have melted. (do not allow the marshmallows to over cook or they will taste burnt)

  4. Quickly add the rice crispies and stir, until all the crispies are coated in the marshmallow mixture.

  5. Once the mixture is thoroughly coated using the spatula transfer the mixture to your greased baking tray.

  6. press the mixture into the corners of the tray and smooth with the spatula.

  7. Now sprinkle with glitter or edible sprinkles and leave to cool.

  8. Once cooled remove from the tray and cut into bars.

Much love always
